The squeaky squealers! Thats your brake pads letting you know they may just need some attention. The average brake pad replacement can range from $145 to $370 per axle. This service should always include new hardware shims and/or a new brake wear sensor if applicable. Pricing will vary depending upon the vehicles make and model as well as the type of pad suggested for optimal stopping performance.
Rotors come in all different materials, sizes, weights and looks. On a standard vehicle you can usually expect to pay between $290 and $570 per axle for the installation of new brake pads and rotors. The manufacturer and type of rotor installed will certainly determine the price. With us, we always suggest a coated rotor from a credible brand.
Brake calipers can have a wide price range depending upon the vehicle and the braking system it is equipped with. The average cost to have a single caliper replaced will usually range from $250 to $450.
Selective cars and pickups may still use a drum brake system in the rear axle. Brake shoes expand inside of a drum to stop the vehicle. Small springs under tension are attached in order for the shoes to retract from the drum. Along with new shoes, new springs and hardware should be installed to prevent binding. Most sedans range from $195 to $260 while heavier trucks may cost $240 to $290 per axle for parts and installation.
A drum braking system has been around for quite some time but is becoming more outdated on passenger vehicles as technology advances. Replacement of rear brake drums, brake shoes and hardware would cost approximately $340 to $440.
A brake wheel cylinder is the main component to a drum brake system. Under hydraulic pressure the pistons inside are pushed outward forcing the shoes to make contact inside the drum bringing the car to a stop. It is best practice to replace cylinders in pairs but not mandatory. You can expect to pay around $250 for a new set of wheel cylinders installed.
Brake fluid contaminated or discolored? No problem, we'll flush the old fluid and replace your system with new DOT approved fluid. A brake flush typically costs $85 to $140
The master! The heart of the hydraulic braking system creating pressurized brake fluid to be pumped through the brakes lines to your calipers or cylinders. A new master cylinder installed can usually cost between $250 and $500.
